Give the Diggers a Fair Go Campaign...

Those of you who received the summer edition of the Mounties Group magazine will have notice a covering message containing a call to action to help save the Diggers from a proposed rezoning by Warringah Council (as part of their draft LEP).

We are pleased to confirm after discussion with council and on the advice of our professional planners, that council has included a provision in Schedule 1 of the Draft LEP that permits the continued operation of a registered club. That said the Lot numbers and address listed in Schedule 1 are inconsistent and the club will still lodge a submission to council seeking to have this and some other inconsistencies ratified in order that this new planning instrument provides suitable accommodation to allow the club to service the growing needs of the community into the future.

While this is a great relief to everyone who knows and loves Harbord Diggers, we will continue to update this page as information comes to hand, but otherwise should you wish to register your ongoing support of the club then please send an email to harbordinfo@mountiesgroup.com.au  with the Subject "I Love The Diggers"

The draft LEP proposed by Warringah Council is currently on exhibition via www.warringah.nsw.gov.au should you wish to explore any planning related matter for the local area.
