Mounties Community Grants Presentation Evening 2010

2010 grant recipients with Mounties Board Of Directors and dignitaries at the 12th Annual Community Grants Presentation Night

Mounties has enjoyed a long tradition of supporting the local Fairfield and Liverpool communities. The Club proudly donated almost $300,000 to local charities and organisations at the 2010 Community Grants Presentation, held on August 5.

One of the most important events on the Mounties calendar, the event celebrated Mounties’ financial contribution and the tireless work and initiatives of local community groups, many of which rely on the Club’s support for survival.

The Presentation Evening was attended by prestigious guests, Fairfield City Major Hon Nick Lalich MP, Liverpool City Mayor, the Hon Wendy Waller, Member for Liverpool, the Hon Paul Lynch and Mr Peter Newell, Chairman of ClubsNSW.

Grants were presented on the night to a diverse range of organisations from the Fairfield and Liverpool area, including the Salvation Army, St John’s Ambulance, and the Red Cross, along with many local schools. The funding will cover a range of initiatives, including youth and health awareness programs, cultural integration projects, assistance to people who are intellectually disabled, and the creation of training, education and employment opportunities for disadvantaged local citizens.

Mounties will donate $1,665,046 over the 2009/2010 financial year. These are in addition to the countless direct requests for support from local organisations and individuals, and Mounties’ ongoing support for 39 sporting and special interest groups.

Mounties Group President Kevin Ingram said, “Mounties is a community focused club, and these donations are an excellent demonstration of our ongoing commitment to the Fairfield and Liverpool area. The Board of Directors, management and staff of Mounties receive great satisfaction when hearing about the success of these vital community groups”.
