    Competitions
Rules and conditions of competitions held at each Mounties Group club are available on request.

    Non-Smoking Extension
There is now an extension of the non-smoking area of the club to include within 10 metres of any foyer, those being, Meadows Rd, Humphries Rd and M1. Effectively it means that patrons cannot smoke within 10 metres of any of these entry points.

    Smoking

    Change is in the air

The NSW State Government has brought into effect The Smoke Free Environment (Amended) Act 2004 which prohibits smoking inside all licensed premises, effective 2 July 2007.

Simply put, this means that no-one can smoke anywhere inside pubs and clubs, including Mounties Group clubs - Mounties at Mt Pritchard, Mounties Bowling Club at Fairfield and on the Northern Beaches, Harbord Diggers and Manly Bowling Club. Fines and penalties do apply to premises and individual offenders that smoke inside.

Section 7 of the Act indicates that the maximum fine that applies to a person that smokes in a smoke-free area is $550.

    How is the legislation enforced?

Environmental Health Officers based in NSW Public Health Units are authorised as inspectors to enforce the legislation.

Environmental Health Officers monitor compliance, investigate complaints and conduct inspections.

Individuals have the responsibility to not smoke in smoke-free areas.

    Green and red zones

To make it easier for you to know where you can and can't smoke at a Mounties Group club, we've colour coded our clubs for you.

GREEN ZONES marked by a green smoking symbol are places where YOU ARE FREE to smoke.

RED ZONES marked by a red no smoking symbol are indoor
areas where smoking is strictly forbidden under the legislation.

Look out for our green and red signage to help guide you to where you can and can't smoke, or ask a staff member, or simply refer to the colour coded maps in this brochure.

How do I report a possible breach?
Individuals are encouraged, in the first instance, to take up complaints about non-compliance with the legislation at a Mounties Group club directly with management at your Mounties Group club. Alternatively, individuals can contact their local Public Health Unit or the Tobacco and Health Information Line on (02) 9391 9111 or email tobacco@doh.health.nsw.gov.au to obtain more information or to make a complaint.

Mounties Group Clubs gives the green light to new smoking legislation

Cleaner air and a no less than half a dozen new Outdoor Terraces at Mounties Group Clubs have been the upshot of the total indoor smoking bans now in force. Mounties chief executive office Greg Pickering said that while these new Outdoor Terraces were planned years before the NSW State Government's Smoke Free Environment Act came into effect, they opened just in time for the smoking restrictions.

“At Mounties, we've turned the legislation into an opportunity to create some really terrific outdoor spaces. Thanks to stylish furniture and outdoor heating and cooling, the Members Bar Outdoor Terrace at Mounties in particular is already very popular with both non-smokers and smokers alike.

This and the outdoor terraces off the Mixed Lounge and Champions Indoor Sports Complex at Mounties offer a comfortable, relaxing and spacious area for our patrons to enjoy themselves, giving them the opportunity to smoke if they want to,” Mr Pickering said.

Mounties at Mt Pritchard has gone one step further to ensure that the new smoking legislation is easy to abide by. The Members Bar Outdoor Terrace on the ground floor combines areas where patrons can smoke as well as enjoy a range of modern facilities. The Members Bar Outdoor Terrace features beautiful finishes of sandstone and timber, with a peaceful waterfall and two super size plasma screens. Comfortable furniture designed to encourage conversation and easily accessible new bars have made the terrace a firm favourite with many Mounties regulars.

At Harbord Diggers, an Outdoor Terrace with spectacular views over the Pacific Ocean has just opened, adjacent to the newly renovated ground floor and the club now boasts a brand new Members Lounge, Coffee Shop and spacious players lounge.
